Theory of Communications and Networks

3 credit hours

"C+" or better grade. Communication networks such as telephone networks, broadcast networks, cable television networks and the Internet affect almost all aspects of our society. Networks of data paths are also needed within communications services. This course will introduce the students to the design and efficient use of communication networks. The emphasis will be on the theory of design and analysis. The theory will be illustrated with case studies of existing networks and data-parallel computers.
