About this course
This course is an elementary introduction to the techniques of linear algebra. Topics include: systems of linear equations, matrices and elementary matrix operations, matrix inverse, trace, determinants, vectors, linear combinations including linear dependence and independence, vector spaces and subspaces including column space and nullspace, rank and nullity of a matrix, bases, eigenvalues and MATHEMATICS & COMPUTER SCIENCE (62) 197 eigenvectors, dot product, norm, cross product, and linear mappings in n- dimensional space. Selected applications will be presented. Complex vector spaces will be discussed.
Prerequisites
Pre-Calculus 40S or Applied Mathematics 40S or 62:090 MATH or 62:150 MATH.
